Carlos Sousa third-fastest on final special stage
Setting the third fastest time on the final timed sector, Carlos Sousa confirmed that he is definitely on the pace, and able to compete with the best. Without yesterdays incidents, the Team Galp Energia driver would undoubtedly have been able to fight with the eventual winners. With some regrets concerning the overall result (11th), the team is nevertheless extremely satisfied with the handling of the Nissan Navara, and very optimistic concerning the future.

Incident-filled day for Team Galp Energia
Today, the competitors in the 19th Baja Portalegre were far from spoiled. Neither the weather nor the
road conditions were easy on them. As for Carlos Sousa, he was additionally hit by bad luck. But the morale of the Portuguese driver is still high, despite two punctures, windscreen-wiper problems, and a reluctant third gear. Race incidents which did not dampen his enthusiasm or his optimism concerning the potential of his Nissan Navara.

Carlos Sousa makes a good start with the Nissan Navara
Setting the fifth fastest time in the Prologue for the 19th Baja Portalegre, Carlos Sousa quickly found his bearings again. With Jean Marie Lurquin as his navigator, the Portuguese driver said that he had a good feeling for the vehicle, and seemed rather satisfied not to have to open the stage for tomorrows first timed sector. A strategy that will allow him to adapt his rhythm according to the competition.
