First Production (T2) category win for Benoît Rousselot and his Nissan Pathfinder, Isabelle Patissier 7th overall.
The start of the last special stage of a rally has a flavour all its own. Tired crews, worn vehicles, it is important to stay alert and finish the event with flair. Which is what Benoît Rousselot did, winning the « Production » (T2) category for the first time in his relatively short rally raid career.

A scare for Benoît Rousselot as his vehicle rolls…
His Nissan Pathfinder retains a good lead in Production
Due to the showers that fell overnight, worsening conditions on the track, René Metge opted for safety this morning by cancelling the first of the two timed stages which made up this fifth leg.
Therefore, a very long liaison sector (344 km), that the competitors found extremely wearing, took them to Imranli, for the start of the only special stage of the day, the same as yesterday’s, but in the opposite direction.

Benoît Rousselot claims 4th overall and strengthens his position as leader in the T2 category…
The Team Nissan France Dessoude Nissan Pathfinder vehicles claimed a fine triple finish today, claiming 4th, 5th and 6th places in today’s special stage, between Ankara and Ürgüp. Benoît Rousselot strengthened his lead in the T2 category, where he is now over 14 minutes ahead.

And they’re off … Benoît Rousselot sets of at a fine pace and takes the lead in T2, over terrain ideally suited to rally drivers. Isabelle Patissier set a more cautious pace during this first special stage, taking care of her Pathfinder and setting the 8th fastest time. Team Nissan France Dessoude has made a good start to the Rally of the Orient.
